Corporate Venture Capital: Avoid the Risk, Miss the Rewards

Corporate Venture Capital is back and it looks like it’s here to stay, according to Boston Consulting Group.  In a recent article, BCG describes how they believe CVC is well on its way to establishing a firm foothold in the corporate world as companies look to nascent companies not just to generate financial returns but also to complement their R&D efforts, penetrate fast-growing emerging markets, and gain early access to potentially disruptive technologies and business models.  It is becoming clear that while venture investing is inherently risky, the greatest risk innot to invest at all.
